100 FDC & NRM members defect to NUP in Kasese

Ngangasi Remegio, a supporter of the NUP party, also called for a united front of opposition parties to work together in order to bring an end to the current regime.

Over 100 members of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) have defected to the National Unity Platform (NUP) in Kasese District.

There were received by Jackson Mbaju Kathika, the former Member of Parliament for Busongora County South at Kyapa Catholic Church in Kyapa village, Nyakabingo sub-county in Kasese district over the weekend.

Ankole Times, reports that the defectors have pledged to mobilize others in their communities to quit the ruling NRM and the once-biggest opposition political party FDC.

“Their commitment to this cause highlights the growing discontentment among Ugandans with the current state of affairs in the country,” Ankole Times noted in their news report on Monday.
