Uganda is confident of CAF AFCON 2027 readiness as Stadium Works progress
The LOC, through Communications and Promotion Sub-Committee Chairperson Dr. Dennis K. Mugimba, revealed that following CAF’s second physical inspection, Uganda remains on track to complete all three designated stadiums by December 2026.
Uganda’s Local Organising Committee (LOC) has confirmed that preparations for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 are progressing well, with all major facilities expected to be ready before the tournament.
The LOC, through Communications and Promotion Sub-Committee Chairperson Dr. Dennis K. Mugimba, revealed that following CAF’s second physical inspection, Uganda remains on track to complete all three designated stadiums by December 2026.
The country also expects 10 of the 12 planned training facilities to be completed by the same deadline, while FUFA Stadium Kadiba and Sir Tito Winyi Senior Secondary School training grounds are scheduled for completion in January 2027.
Beyond infrastructure, the LOC highlighted economic opportunities for Ugandan businesses, with 850 potential suppliers registered and 650 already pre-qualified to take part in tournament-related activities.
With nine months remaining until kick-off, Uganda continues to work closely with CAF to ensure a successful hosting of the continental football showpiece alongside co-hosts Kenya and Tanzania.
