Agencies, persons to be awarded for contributing to private sector growth in Uganda
Francis Kisirinya, the Director Finance Public Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), noted that the high cost of doing business is among the issues affecting business and entrepreneurship growth in the country.
The Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) has announced the return of annual Private Sector Development Awards. The awards are aimed at recognizing the outstanding contributions of individuals, businesses, associations, community groups, cooperatives, private companies and government agencies to the growth and development of the private sector in Uganda.
Francis Kisirinya, the Director Finance Public Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), noted that the high cost of doing business is among the issues affecting business and entrepreneurship growth in the country.
“Despite this setback, experts are certain that the growth trajectory of various sectors of the economy is on the right track,” he said.
He noted that the growth has compelled the Private Sector Foundation of Uganda to announce the return of its annual Private Sector Development Awards.
This year’s ceremony which aims at recognizing the individuals that are working tirelessly to support the growth of the economy, will be awarded in the categories of: Business Association of the Year, Private Sector Environment, Social and Governance Champion of the year, Community Development Champion, Woman Organization of the Year, Youth Organization of the Year, Private Sector Media Personality of the Year and Government Agency of the Year.
Grace Nshemereire, the Chief Operating Officer PSFU, stressed that in order to facilitate social and economic growth, entrepreneurs have been urged to widen their market base within the African continent due to the similarity in standards.
Nominations for the Awards are open until the 3rd of November 2023. The winners of the award categories are to be announced at the Private Sector Gala on the 6th December 2023.
