Apology to Dennis Daniel Ssemugenyi

While the article was written and published with no intentional malice, we understand and acknowledge the reputational damage it might have cause Mr. Ssemugenyi, his family, his associates and businesses. We regret it all and sincerely apologize. We are sorry.

On 05th February 2025, we errorneously published a news article on this website in which we alleged that Mr. Dennis Daniel Ssemugenyi ‘used to running scams, but this time, he’s been caught red handed.’

In the unfortunate article which we regret publishing before verification was done, we also allege that Mr. Ssemugenyi has been deceiving investors, skipping out on bills, and creating fake business deals’ and that ‘authorities have finally put a stop to his fraudulent empire.’

In the article which we have since deleted from our website, we wrote that he had scammed ‘an elderly Texas woman out of thousands of dollars with fake investment opportunities.’

In the article, we said that ‘on September 5, 2024, the Chief Magistrates Court of Kampala issued a court order freezing all bank accounts linked to Ssemugenyi and his fake company,’ quoting ‘criminal case, URC GEF 07/2024.’

While the article was written and published with no intentional malice, we understand and acknowledge the reputational damage it might have caused Mr. Ssemugenyi, his family, his associates and businesses. We regret it all and sincerely apologize. We are sorry. We should have been more responsible as journalists and verified the information for fair, professional and balanced reporting.

We commit that we will do our best to ensure that this will not happen – to Ssemugenyi or any other person or organization.
