Body Of Fallen Gen. Elly Tumwine Returned To Uganda From Nairobi Where He Breathed His Last
On Thursday morning, Ugandans woke up to the news that Gen Tumwine had died in Nairobi. Museveni described Tumwine, 68 years old, as a dedicated and hard-working cadre.
At about 7 pm sharp, East African Time, a chartered plane carrying the lifeless body of Gen. Elly Tumwine touched down at a sombre Entebbe International Airport from Kenya’s capital Nairobi where the heroic soldier Thursday morning succumbed to lung cancer.
The top leadership of Uganda People’s Denfese Force (UPDF), especially officers at the rank of General, received the casket containing the remains of Gen. Tumwine.

Also to receive the casket draped in the country’s flag were the deceased’s immediate family and friends. These were supported by the UPDF funeral services department.
According to Jordan Mubangizi, the NBS Television reporter at the airport, Gen Tumwine body was set to be flown to Bombo Barracks for UPDF to continue with the management of his burial.
