Crested Cranes Final Squad For TotalEnergies Women AFCON 2022 Announced

Africa's top 12 women national teams prepare for the continent's biggest women football competition starting on 02 July until 23 July.

The Crested Cranes final squad that will feature at the forthcoming TotalEnergies Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has this Tuesday morning been announced by coach George Lutalo.

The 26 players names were unveiled at a press briefing held at FUFA Complex in Mengo, Kampala. According to the coach, the final squad has three goalkeepers including skipper Ruth Aturo, seven defenders, six midfielders and ten forwards.

“We had smooth preparations since last year. We played COSAFA and recently CECAFA where the team emerged Champions. I believe these tournaments have helped us to get the Skelton of the team and I’m confident the final squad named will help us attain the set targets.” Coach Lutalo said.

The contingent will depart Uganda for Morocco on the morning of Wednesday Morning  and the team will have a ten-day training camp in Marrakesh. At the tournament, Uganda is in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Burkina Faso and Senegal.
