Golf championship gets Johnnie Walker sponsorship

Johnnie Walker, the iconic whisky brand, will sponsor this year’s edition of the Uganda Open Golf Championship, it has been revealed. The championship in its 82nd edition will run under the title the JW Uganda Golf Open 2023 at the Uganda Golf Club on Thursday, October 12 2023.
The sponsorship deal is valued at Shs410 million, underlining the brand’s commitment to enhancing the golf tournament. The Johnnie Walker Brand Manager Christine Kyokunda told a press conference that they will provide guests, golfers, and enthusiasts with memorable experiences at the Hospitality villages.
This space will feature a dedicated lounge for players and offer an immersive golf and whisky experience, along with exciting 19th-hole experiences.

Emmanuel Wamala, the Captain of Uganda Golf Club, confirmed the course’s readiness to host the tournament and thanked the Title sponsor, Johnnie Walker, and other partners for their support.
