JICA gives $5m to ministry of energy
This will minimize power disruptions in the country, the minister said.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has given the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development $5m to stabilize the power supply in the country.
The energy minister Ruth Nankabirwa said equipment for this purpose will be installed in 3 Substations – Kawanda, Lugogo and Tororo. This will minimize power disruptions in the country, the minister said.
She said the government of Uganda has a vision to ensure electricity access is for all Ugandans for the socio-economic development of the country.
“So by this, we have to improve on grid stability, effectiveness and efficiency as we concentrate on Energy access and affordability,” she said.
