Juhi Barot wins award for looking after old people

Leela Foundation, an NGO founded in July 2019, in Kampala, takes care of elderly persons by giving them food gifts, health care and meeting there other needs.

For her works across the country loving and taking care of old people, Juhi Barot, the founder of Leela Foundation Uganda, has received an award from the Governor of  Utar Pradesh, Anandiben Mafatbhai Patel, in Visnagar Gujarat India.

Leela Foundation, an NGO founded in July 2019, in Kampala, takes care of elderly persons by giving them food gifts, health care and meeting there other needs.

The government of Uganda through the Office of the Prime Minister has recognized the works Leela Foundation undertakes in communities across the country.

This year in March, Leela Foundation has donated to the senior citizens in Bugishu sub region in eastern Uganda while last month, in October, over 500 elderly persons (jjajas) in Mukono district got food packages.

Last year, Leela Foundation came to the rescue of people in Karamoja sub region who were dying of hunger. Juhi Barot led a team from Leela Foundation to donate food in Karenga district, in Karamoja sub region.

For the Karamoja donations, Leela Foundation partnered with Namoe & Company Limited together with Lilly Rose Akello,  the Minister of Ethics and Integrity to gift over 1, 000 families with food packages.
