Man drowns trying to find body of 12 year boy
According to Police, the search for the body is still ongoing and advised all parents to be vigilant as their children are now back from school.
Police at Kasangati are investigating an incident in which two people drowned in Kijabijjo village, Kira Municipality, Wakiso district.
According to Police, the first incident happened on Wednesday 23/11/2022, when Ssentezza Joel, 12 years, had gone swimming with other children but unfortunately, he drowned.
Deputy police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan, Luke Oweyisigire, noted that the children that survived, rushed and informed their parents who mobilized efforts to find the body of the deceased, but they could not find it on the first day.
“On Thursday 24/11/2022 as the search intensified, Kassaga Kiwanuka Charles, 40, who had entered the same water to help find the drowned child, also drowned in the process,” he added.
Oweyisigire confirmed that a search was mounted by volunteers to find the bodies of the deceased persons and the first victim was found.
He said Police divers were called to help search for the body of the second victim yesterday but in vain.
