According to Sheilla Nduhukire, the Principal Public Relations Officer at National Medical Stores, emergency fire services were promptly notified and firefighters started working tirelessly to extinguish the fire.
Mandated to procure, store and distribute essential medicines and medical supplies to all public health facilities in the country, the Authority has activated its business continuity plan to ensure uninterrupted supply of mosquito nets to Ugandans.
Nduhukire noted that the mosquito nets were comprehensively insured to minimize any unexpected loss.
“We are currently assessing the extent of the damage caused by the fire and are working closely with the relevant authorities to investigate the cause,” Nduhukire said.
Adding: “NMS has already activated its Business Continuity Plan to ensure uninterrupted supply of mosquito nets to Ugandans. The mosquito nets were comprehensively insured to minimize any unexpected loss.”
