Multipurpose-built school project in Buyende district promises more than classroom learning
First to be launched is the kindergarten section before the proprietors embark on the construction of the primary and secondary sections this year. The school project will also have recreation and medical centres.
A multipurpose-built school in Buyende will be launched by the Kyabazinga of Busoga, His Majesty William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, on Saturday 28th January 2023, in Buyende district, eastern Uganda.
First to be launched is the kindergarten section before the proprietors embark on the construction of the primary and secondary sections this year. The school project will also have recreation and medical centres.
According to Eng Isabirye Gerald, the executive director of New Life Schools Buwaidha, the school will provide essential education to vulnerable children who have never received or experienced a close, stable and dignifying educational environment.
The school will also provide community-based projects and training development programs to enable children to reach their full potential.
Eng Isabirye explained that they are working with Obwa Kyabazinga Bwa Busoga, other schools in Buyende, religious leaders and the community to groom a God-fearing generation to serve not only Buyende district but also the country at large.
“We want every child to have an opportunity to quality formal education to break the cycles of illiteracy and poverty that have for so long defined this area,” Eng Isabirye stated in an interview.
He further elaborated that while New Life Schools teaches the Ugandan curriculum the school teaches ‘the same information but in a different way.’ “Instead of teaching only how to memorize to pass tests and exams, we teach our students critical thinking,” he noted.
“We believe that opening a school in the Buwaidha area is imperative to the wellbeing of the children not only in their education but in developing them psychologically, emotionally and socially and giving them the chance to experience life as a normal child should,” he added.
