Museveni to meet MPs before signing anti-homosexuality bill
The Bill proposed by Bugiri Municipality MP Asuman Basalirwa proposes death for people practicing same sex and long term jail term for accomplices.
President Yoweri Museveni will convene a meeting with Members of Parliament to discuss the Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2023 and how children can be protected, State House has revealed.
“Children are children, they need to grow as children, no one should invade their childhood,” a brief statement released on the State House Twitter page quotes the President saying.
Parliament recently passed the Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2023 and awaits the President’s signature to become a fully-fledged law.

While the Bill has attracted widespread condemnation from the international human rights lobby, the US government and gay rights activists, Ugandans are eager to see the president sign it into law.
