The law firm boasts of high-end clients including former Prime Minister, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, Pepsi tycoon, Amos Nzeyi, Simba Group's tycoon, Patrick Bitature and the troubled Muhammad Hamed of the ill-fated Nakasero-based AYA Hotel.

Renowned city lawyer and his controversial law firm Fred Muwema and Company Advocates are facing undesired and embarrassing eviction over a hefty rent bill.

Muwema and Company Advocates, led by Muwema and Robert Fridays Kagoro, will have to pay Shs500m to avoid the eviction.

The law firm boasts of high-end clients including former Prime Minister, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, Pepsi tycoon, Amos Nzeyi, Simba Group’s tycoon, Patrick Bitature and the troubled Muhammad Hamed of the ill-fated Nakasero-based AYA Hotel.

Muwema started from the downtown Nkurumah road before moving up to the leafy Kololo where rent issues have now caught up with him, threatening to render him chamberless.

The pissed landlords, Down Investments Limited, have duly filed a lawsuit at the commercial section of the High Court where Muwema and Kagoro regularly feature as they defend multi-million lawsuits on behalf of their top-notch clients.

The landlord accuses Muwema and Kagoro of being in arrears of rent stretching from June 2021 to date.

Apart from the civil suit, the landlord has filed a police complaint, seeking assistance with eviction of the defaulters.

With Lady Justice Grace Magala warming up to handle the case, one can only hope and pray that Muwema and Kagoro can quickly resolve this matter short of which their landlords look determined to throw them out of his building and onto the streets of Kololo.
