Nile Breweries trusts Emmanuel Njuki with their brand awareness as Ekomoloit scales up the ladders at the beer maker company

Nile Breweries has undertaken two important changes at the top management level of the beer-making company.

The company, a subsidiary of AB-InBev, has elevated Onapito Ekomoloit from the position of Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs and made him the chairperson of the board.

Ekomoloit replaces astute Elly Karuhanga, bringing to end his seventeen years tenure as Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs.

A former journalist, Ekomoloit has had the pleasure to serve the country in different capacities. He has worked as press secretary to President Yoweri Museveni and as an MP representing Amuria County.

He has also lectured at Makerere University among other jobs he has undertaken in the past.

To replace Ekomoloit, Nile Breweries trusted Emmanuel Njuki, also a former journalist and a communication consultant. Njuki will now serve as Country Head, Legal and Corporate Affairs.

In a brief interview with Charmar News, Njuki said he is absolutely honoured and humbled to follow in the footsteps of Ekomoloit.

He noted that Ekomoloit’s contribution and accomplishments at Nile Breweries are unmatched.

“I am therefore challenged to pick up the baton and continue the race of supporting Nile Breweries’ market leadership through reputation building, stakeholder engagement and community investment,” Njuki said in an interview.

And Njuki well understands the opportunity and challenge at hand – working with a subsidiary of the world’s biggest beer producer. “My charge is to grow Nile Breweries into Uganda’s most admired FMCG company, he said when asked what to expect from him.

He added: “Our group and company positions provide both an opportunity (the path has been cut) and a challenge (because once you’re a leader the only direction is forward) to achieve this dream.”

Njuki has been working as the Corporate Affairs Manager at Eskom Uganda. Before Eskom, Njuki worked as the Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing at Orient Bank Uganda. He also worked as Brand and Communication Manager at KCB Bank Uganda.

A former journalist at NTV Uganda and Daily Monitor, Njuki worked in different capacities while at Fireworks Advertising.
