One Suspect Arrested For Murdering 2-Year-Old Christabella Kemigisha In Sheema District

Yesterday, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy PRO Kampala Metro Police (KMP) in a statement revealed that four suspects had been arrested for allegedly taking part in the disappearance and murder of Nangobi Leticia,  a three-year-old child.

Police have kicked off an investigation into the murder of a two-year-old toddler in Sheema District, ASP Martial Tumusiime, the PRO Greater Bushenyi, has said in a statement.

The murder Christabella Kemigisha, according to ASP Tumusiime, happened on 18/7/2022 at about 1600hrs in Mutanoga cell, Kigarama parish, Kigarama sub-county in Sheema district. After the murder, Kemigisha’s body was dumped in front of a neighbour’s home.

“On 18/7/2022 at about 1600hrs, the deceased disappeared from the home of her grandfather, John Kakuru, where she was at the time of disappearance. Today at around 0620hrs, the deceased body was found dumped at the home of their neighbour identified only as Constance,” police said.

Adding: “A team of police officers of homicide detectives including SOCO and canine visited the scene. With the help of the Police sniffer dog, exhibits including a hoe, a log and clothes of the deceased were recovered in the house of Byamukama Justus, stained with blood,”

“Byamukama has been arrested, while the body of the deceased has been conveyed to Kabwohe health center IV for postmortem examination.” Police stated and condemned brutal and cold-blooded acts of murder.

The case which was first reported as a disappearance later turned into a murder. “The child’s father Mutenda Nicholas, 32, a resident of Natete Mbawo zone, Rubaga division in Kampala reported to Natete Police station on the 21/04/2022 the disappearance of his daughter Nangobi Leticia from their home in Mbawo zone.

“Our officers immediately instituted investigations that later led to the arrest of three suspects identified as Ahimbisibwe Dative, a female adult aliases Maama Imran, Mutebi Patrick and Namanda Gertrude aliases Maama Sandra who were released on police bond since more investigations into the disappearance were needed by the office of the Resident State Attorney.

“The team has however received new information that Ahimbisibwe Dative and her husband had something to do with the murder. Her associates Asiimwe Anthony, Ssemakula John, a husband to Ahimbisibwe, and Mugenyi Alex were all interviewed and Asiimwe Anthony confessed to having participated in the transportation of the deceased’s body on orders of Ahimbisibwe and buried the body in areas of Nakasozi Mpangala, Kyengera town council.

“A team of detectives was able to locate the burial site today 19.07.2022 and exhumed the remains, they have been conveyed to city mortuary mulago for postmortem.

The four suspects in our custody at Natete Police station will be charged with Murder. The case file will be resubmitted to the office of the Resident State Attorney with the new findings for advice and sanctioning.

“The team has also recovered motorcycle UDH 501W which was allegedly used to transport the body of the deceased child.
