Rubaga Hospital refutes reports of Ssegirinya’s death, says MP critically sick
The Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LOP), Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi, also provided updates, indicating that the MP remains in a dire state.
Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the condition of Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya.
While earlier claims suggested the vocal lawmaker had passed away, Rubaga Hospital’s Acting Executive Director, Sr. Grace Nanyondo, has clarified that Ssegirinya is critically ill but still alive.
“He is critically sick. He needs our love and prayers. We cannot declare him dead. He’s critically sick,” Sr. Nanyondo told journalists this morning at the hospital in Kampala.
The Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LOP), Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi, also provided updates, indicating that the MP remains in a dire state.
“The interface we have had with doctors, they have told us that what is still in place is a very slight pulse because he is on a ventilator, on a machine,” Ssenyonyi said.
Ssegirinya, who is widely known for his activism and compassion for the underprivileged, has been battling deteriorating health in recent years.
He had recently returned to Uganda after receiving treatment at Aga Khan Hospital.
The hospital and his political colleagues have appealed for the public to offer prayers and support during this critical time.
