Kenya has found a new lifeline in the Chinese-built Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), which was launched more than five years ago. The Mombasa-Nairobi SGR was mainly financed by China and constructed by a Chinese company. Over the years, the railway has not only facilitated travel but also powered growth as an efficient, reliable and affordable means of mobility.
