Gen. Saleh tasks Eddy Kenzo to manage artist influx in Gulu

In a handwritten letter dated November 17, Saleh expressed concerns that the presence of musicians flocking to Gulu for festive season performances was interfering with his efforts to implement socio-economic development programs in northern Uganda.

Gen. Salim Saleh, Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), has called on Eddy Kenzo, President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) and Presidential Advisor on Creatives, to address the growing influx of artists in Gulu.

In a handwritten letter dated November 17, Saleh expressed concerns that the presence of musicians flocking to Gulu for festive season performances was interfering with his efforts to implement socio-economic development programs in northern Uganda.

“Musicians coming to Gulu for Christmas festivities are disrupting my work in the region. Please handle this matter,” Saleh urged.

The leadership of OWC echoed his sentiments, emphasizing the need for collaboration within the creative industry to align activities with national priorities.

“Collaboration and mutual respect are crucial as we work towards uplifting communities across Uganda,” they stated.

Reports suggest that musicians and comedians have frequently visited Saleh’s Gulu residence seeking financial aid. Meanwhile, Kenzo has yet to respond publicly to the directive.
