Stanbic Bank unveils revamped SupaDupa campaign, extends loan tenor to 10 years
Bank officials say this strategic shift is designed to provide customers with greater flexibility, lower monthly installments, and more predictability in managing their finances.

In a significant move aimed at easing the financial burden on borrowers, Stanbic Bank Uganda has unveiled a refreshed SupaDuma Campaign, significantly extending the repayment period for its unsecured commercial loans.
The centerpiece of the revamped campaign is the extension of the loan tenor from the previous 84 months (7 years) to a new maximum of 120 months (10 years). Bank officials say this strategic shift is designed to provide customers with greater flexibility, lower monthly installments, and more predictability in managing their finances.
Speaking at a news conference in Kampala, Israel Arinaitwe, Head of Personal Banking at Stanbic Bank, described the initiative as a practical step towards driving financial inclusion and easing the borrowing process for Ugandans.
“The new policy aligns with our purpose: ‘Uganda is our home; we drive her growth.’ This extension gives you more breathing room with easier monthly installments,” Arinaitwe stated.
He confirmed that the new 120-month tenor is available to both salaried and self-employed individuals, with customers able to access loans of up to UGX 350 million. Arinaitwe emphasized that the move is part of a broader commitment to empower key segments of the population, including youth, women, and farmers.
He also stressed the bank’s responsible lending approach, assuring that repayment plans would be tailored to clients’ real-life circumstances. The initiative, he noted, was directly informed by feedback from customers seeking more manageable long-term financial solutions.
Melissa Nyakwera, Stanbic’s Head of Commercial Banking, highlighted a complementary “Back-to-School” incentive tied to the campaign. With the new school term approaching, the bank is offering cashback rewards of up to UGX 200,000 for parents and guardians who pay school fees through its digital platforms.
The cash-back offer applies to payments made via Stanbic’s FlexiPay, Agent Banking, and USSD *290# channels. Nyakwera encouraged the public to use these solutions, noting that they are designed for convenience, security, and ease of tracking.
