Alien skin granted bail amid strict conditions

Unlike Monday’s session, when their sureties were deemed unsubstantial, the court found the new sureties acceptable.

Local musician Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin, has been granted bail in a high-profile case involving allegations of theft, assault, and unlawful entry.

The Sitya Danger hitmaker, 30, along with his bodyguard Julius ‘Julio’ Mugabi, appeared before the Makindye Chief Magistrate Court on Thursday for a second bail hearing.

Unlike Monday’s session, when their sureties were deemed unsubstantial, the court found the new sureties acceptable.

Alien was released on a cash bail of Shs 1 million, with each surety required to pay Shs 5 million. However, the court imposed strict conditions, barring him and his co-accused from leaving the country or interfering with the victims, either in person or via social media.

The charges stem from two incidents: the theft of an iPhone 15 Pro and Shs 480,000, and an alleged attack on Nsambya Hospital staff on November 19, 2024. Alien and his group reportedly stormed the hospital, demanding answers about the death of their colleague, Joram Tumwesigye, and allegedly assaulted three staff members.

The musician, who was initially remanded until December 9, gained temporary freedom after his legal team informed the court of ongoing discussions to resolve the matter out of court.

Alien Skin and his co-accused have denied all charges. The case is set for further mention on January 13, 2025.
