Betty Amongi rejects NSSF board recommendations
"The Board assures NSSF members, stakeholders and the public that the Fund remains stable, and its operations are running normally," Ocailap said.
The Chairperson of the Board of National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Patrick Ocailap, reveals that the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has refused to approve their recommended person for the job of Managing Director of NSSF.
Ocailap, in a statement, said that in fulfilling the laws and regulations requirements, they submitted recommendations to the minister for the appointment of a Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director.
However, only the position of Deputy Managing Director was approved. Ocailap said that Patrick Ayota was appointed Deputy Managing Director.
Ocailap said the processes leading to the appointment of the Managing Director have taken longer. He didn’t give further details and the encumbrances they are encountering.
In the interim, the Deputy Managing Director will caretake this office until these processes are concluded, Ayota said.
“The Board assures NSSF members, stakeholders and the public that the Fund remains stable, and its operations are running normally,” Ocailap said.
