Cranes legend Denis Onyango steps in to bolster CHAN squad goalkeeping

Uganda Cranes legend and former captain, Denis Onyango, has answered a call from the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to lend his invaluable expertise to the national CHAN squad’s goalkeeping department. Onyango, currently on holiday in the country, has graciously offered to support the team’s preparations, a move expected to significantly boost the morale and technical prowess of the squad’s shot-stoppers.
The iconic goalkeeper will join the team today, Monday 7th July 2025, at their training session in Luzira. His involvement comes after a direct approach from FUFA, recognizing the immense experience and leadership he brings from a decorated career spanning top-flight African and international football.
Onyango’s decision to dedicate part of his holiday to assist the national team underscores his continued commitment to Ugandan football.
