eSwatini Royal Princes moot close ties with Busoga, Uganda

Gen. Kainerugaba expressed profound appreciation for the opportunity to meet the monarch who graciously welcomed him to his palace.

The Royal Princes of the Kingdom of Eswatini, HRH Prince Sicalo Diamini and HEH Prince Bandzile Diamin have used their time in Uganda to concretize their relationship with the kingdom of Busoga and Uganda at large.

The eSwatini princes have been in Uganda having been invited the Kyabazinga of Busoga to attend the wedding ceremony of His Majesty William Nadiope and Jovia Mutesi, which happened on 18th November in Jinja City.

The Royal Princes are sons to Eswatini’s King Mswati III.

After the wedding, on Monday 20th November, the Kyabazinga welcomed the visitors to his private home in Buziga, a leafy surbub in Kampala. The Kyabazinga thanked them for accepting the invite on a short notice. He expressed his appreciation to the King of Eswatini for a positive response to the invitation and also noted that he sent through a very able team.

He noted that this visit should kick start a whole new chapter of collaboration between the Busoga Kingdom and Eswatini kingdom.

The Busoga king was in agreement to the proposal of establishing exchange programs between the two monarchs. He was also open to an idea of visiting Eswatini in the future to further the discussions and build the relations.

He later invited them dinner after which he presented them with gifts of both the king and the queen of Busoga Kingdom.

The Princes of Eswatini thanked the King for the invitations both for the wedding and the private visit at his private home. They relayed the King’s appreciation for the invitation and in turn promised to payback the favor. They noted that Uganda is such a beautiful country and Jinja in particular. They were also in agreement of the proposal of progressing the relationship between the two kingdoms an initiative to be driven by Ambassador Quillino Bamwine, the Honorary Consul of Eswatini.

Earlier in the day, the delegation led by Amb Bamwine met Chairman MK Movement and Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The Eswatini Princes had fruitful deleliberations with Gen Kainerugaba. The meeting with the princes follows a previous visit earlier this year, when King Mswati III hosted Gen. Kainerugaba at his palace in the South African nation.

“Very honored to have met His Majesty King Mswati III of Eswatini recently. He is an exceptional monarch. Uganda and Eswatini relations are robust,” Gen. Kainerugaba shared on Twitter following the meeting with King Mswati.
