Chief Registrar Sarah Langa Siu highlighted the inclusion of newly operationalized magisterial areas, such as Nakaseke, Gomba, Butaleja, and Kawempe.

The Judiciary has deployed 25 newly appointed judicial officers and transferred 45 others, including Registrars and Magistrates, to enhance service delivery and tackle case backlogs nationwide.

Chief Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo described the reshuffle as part of the Judiciary’s Transformational Agenda aimed at improving access to justice.

“We are bridging the gap between justice providers and seekers by bringing court services closer to our people. This includes building courthouses, hiring more personnel, and modernizing tools to achieve justice for all,” he stated in a press release issued Saturday.

Chief Registrar Sarah Langa Siu highlighted the inclusion of newly operationalized magisterial areas, such as Nakaseke, Gomba, Butaleja, and Kawempe.

“These deployments and transfers will ensure better service delivery. Judicial officers in new magisterial areas are encouraged to lead with integrity and a people-centered approach,” said Langa.

High-caseload stations like Mukono, Mbarara, and Buganda Road have received additional Chief Magistrates. Buganda Road Court, now handling civil matters, also gained a magistrate stationed at the Law Development Centre to support students.

The new deployments are effective immediately, while transfers take effect on January 1, 2025.
