The Minister of Public Service, Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala has inspected the progress of renovation works at the Posta-Uganda building along Kampala Road, which is being transformed into a Service Uganda Centre.
The inspection was conducted together with technical officials from Posta Uganda, the Ministry of Works and Transport, the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), and other stakeholders involved in the project
The facility, once completed, will serve as a one-stop centre where citizens can access a range of government services conveniently under one roof. The initiative is part of government efforts to improve public service delivery, enhance efficiency, and reduce the challenges faced by citizens while accessing essential services.
Gen. Katumba Wamala commended the progress of the renovation works and urged the technical teams to ensure that the project is completed on time and meets the required standards.
He noted that modernizing public service facilities is key to creating a more responsive and citizen-centred government.
The Service Uganda Centres are designed to bring government services closer to the people by integrating services from different institutions, saving time, and improving accessibility for the public.
