KCCA councilors planning to sue minister Kyofatogabye
The Authority ordinary meeting has been adjourned to 21st march to discuss various issues.
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) councillors are planning to sue the State Minister for Kampala, Kyofatogabye Kabuye overtaking the KCCA budget to Parliament without their approval.
The councillors revealed this during their sitting chaired by the Speaker of the Council Zahara Luyirika on Wednesday at their KCCA council chambers in Kampala.
“We have expressed our disappointment to the executive director of KCCA Dorothy Kisaka and the ministry for Kampala for suspending the council meetings. We are very aware that this information has been circulating in the media,” she noted.
The technical team was however represented by one person who was directed by the Speaker to take the minutes of the proceedings.
Councilors attribute this behavior by the technical team to not being transparent in their operations.
Kyoffatolabye made a statement which indicated that government does not have money to facilitate a big number on council meetings.
However, councilors said there is not in council for facilitation but deliberating of issues that affect the people of Kampala.
They have resolved to drag him to courts of law since his action contravenes section 79 of the KCCA act.
