After luring DP’s Norbert Mao to his political side, President Yoweri Museveni pointedly told his new suitor how his party couldn’t survive without him (Museveni).

Museveni made the uncharitable remarks immediately just after signing a working arrangement document with Mao.

Since they say that love is blind, Mao closed his eyes and ears to that verbal onslaught against him and DP.

Probably strengthened by Mao’s such ‘ I don’t-care-attitude, has again referred to his new catch as the chairman general of DP.

The characterization is contained in the circular appointing Mao as the new minister of justice and constitutional affairs.

But having claimed to have started off as a DP member in1960, one would have accordingly expected Museveni to know that that the party’s leader is addressed as the president general not chairman general.

But since Museveni doesn’t want anyone else in Uganda, let alone from the opposition, to be addressed by the title of the president as him, this is why he has accordingly addressed Mao as DP’s chairman general.

Relatedly, Museveni has since fishing DP’s paramount leader, gone ahead to highlight how he left the party because it wasn’t going nowhere.
