The race for the presidency in the 2026 General Elections officially began today with the first day of nominations seeing three prominent figures successfully secure their candidacies.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, representing the National Resistance Movement (NRM), was among those nominated, alongside Kasibante Robert of the National People’s Power (NPP) and Mabirizi Joseph from the Conservative Party (CP).
