Museveni meets Kyabazinga to discuss Busoga poverty
According to a statement released by State House, the meeting took place at State House Entebbe on Wednesday.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has met and held discussions with the Kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom, HRH William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, it has been revealed.
According to a statement released by State House, the meeting took place at State House Entebbe on Wednesday. “The President and the Kyabazinga discussed key issues concerning the development of Busoga Kingdom,” the statement revealed.
Further, the statement details that Museveni tasked the Minister for the Presidency Milly Babirye Babalanda to liaise with the Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka on specific matters related to the Kingdom and draft a white paper that shall be discussed by the Cabinet.
While driving to Kyando in Mayuge district to preside over the inaugural Bishop James Hannington Day on Saturday, the president was shocked to see the level of poverty in Busoga sub-region.
“I have been peeping through my car window as I travelled here for this function and I have kept wondering to myself how do these people live through this sort of poverty?” he said.
“I have screened through all these villages where I have passed but the houses and all the other things I have seen have left me wondering how it’s possible for our people to survive through these hard economic conditions,” the president added.
