Museveni’s minister shot dead by bodyguard
Engola yesterday attended the National Labour Day celebrations in Namutumba district where President Yoweri Museveni was the chief guest.
The State Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Col. (rtd) Charles Okello Macodwogo Engola, was killed this morning by his bodyguard at his home in Kyanja, a residential area in Kampala.
It is not yet clear why the bodyguard killed his boss. A voice of an unidentified person is heard in a social media video saying the bodyguard developed a misunderstanding with the minister and shot him dead.
We have come to learn of the unfortunate incident at Kyanja ring road which led to the demise of Hon Rtd Col Charles Okello Engola this morning. We shall inform the public the details as we jointly investigate the matter.

He thereafter ran away firing bullets in the air. It is believed he also injured another bodyguard on duty. He later shot himself dead.
