NSSF gets 37 partners for Kampala Hills Run

National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has welcomed a fresh lineup of partners for the NSSF Kampala Hills Run. The number of corporate partners now stands at 37.

According to the Fund, Stanbic Bank, StarTimes Uganda, Capital FM Uganda, Clarkson Ltd, Padre Pio Insurance Brokers, Icea Lion, SMS Construction, Klan Logistics, Fireworks Uganda, and Crown Beverages are among the key stakeholders who have joined the run.

Patrick Ayota, the acting NSSF managing director, said it is approximately twelve days to the 6th edition of the NSSF Kampala Hills Run scheduled for 2nd July 2023.

He noted that preparations for the run are going on smoothly. He said distribution of the run kits to all registered participants has commenced.

“Starting today, registered participants will receive messages informing them of when to pick up their kits from their preferred locations as indicated at the time of registration. Our target is to distribute all kits 2 days before the run to avoid last-minute rush,” he said.

The run aims to raise funds for public schools across the country through partnerships with various corporate institutions and individuals.

Ayota noted that ever since the run was started, all proceeds go towards improving public primary schools through refurbishment, improvement of sanitation and provision of digital labs.

In the previous editions, NSSF raised over Shs800 million in cash and over one billion shillings in kind.

Thirten13 primary schools in Kampala, Soroti, Otuke and Kisoro were impacted when over 60 classrooms were constructed or refurbished benefiting close to 15, 000 pupils.
