The police, after an extensive investigation, apprehended Mwanje Gerald, also known as Kigere Muzeyi, on September 6 in Kalisizo town.
Mwanje has confessed to his involvement in the crime and was identified through CCTV footage as the person who snatched the bag of cash from Semanda’s car while another suspect, Joseph Kagimu, alias Bruno, held Semanda at gunpoint with an AK-47 rifle.
The footage also revealed that Alex Lule, alias Dodo, drove the suspects to and from the scene, while their accomplice, a witch doctor named Alex Nabbimba, monitored the area for police presence.
