Police clear King Saha’s concert amid safety concerns
This decision comes as a relief to King Saha and his fans, who were left uncertain after Thursday’s announcement that the event had been halted.
The Uganda Police have given the green light for musician Mansur Ssemanda, better known as King Saha, to hold his highly anticipated concert as planned.
The approval follows a meeting between a joint security team, event organizers, and venue managers at the Cricket Oval, where measures to ensure public safety were reassessed.
“After the meeting, it was agreed that the event will proceed as scheduled,” read a statement from the police.
However, the police have restricted access to the pavilion at the venue, citing structural concerns. Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke explained that the area was deemed unsafe and could pose risks to attendees.
This decision comes as a relief to King Saha and his fans, who were left uncertain after Thursday’s announcement that the event had been halted.
The suspension was based on recommendations from a national security technical team, which flagged structural issues at the facility that could endanger public safety.
Despite the uncertainty, King Saha continued promoting the concert on social media, urging fans to arrive early for an unforgettable show. The event, organized by Umoja Management Ltd under the leadership of Denis Benon Galabuzi, is set to take place on Friday at the Cricket Oval, Lugogo.
Fans are now eagerly awaiting the performance, confident that safety measures are in place to ensure a successful event.
