Police detains intruder who rammed Subaru car into Mayor Lukwago’s home

Police at Old Kampala arrested and are detaining Fred Kiweewa, the man who was driving a Subaru vehicle, registration number UAJ 704K that rammed into Lord Mayor, Elias Lukwago’s home Saturday night.
The Lord Mayor on Saturday 3rd December 2022 cried out on social media telling the world that an overhasty and reckless driver of the Subaru car rammed through the main entrance of his house badly damaging the gate and the pillar at the entrance to the sitting room.
The accident happened at Lukwago Road, Mengo, in Rubaga Division Saturday at about 7pm. Police have since established that the vehicle had two occupants; the driver, Fred Kiweewa, and another only identified as Mariam, who was a passenger.
“Mariam sustained minor injuries and is admitted at Mulago hospital while Kiweewa is now detained at Old Kampala Police Division as investigations into the matter continue. Our team responded at the residence of the Lord Mayor to establish the facts behind the accident and more findings will be communicated in due course,” ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Spokesperson of Kampala Metro Police said.
