Police turns to heavy deployment ahead of festive season
Recently, the police said President Yoweri Museveni had ordered them to deploy roadblocks and checkpoints as a measure of providing security to Ugandans as they travel for the festivities.
There is going to be increased police and military deployment during the festive season in order to protect Ugandans and their property from criminals, SCP Enanga Fred, the POLICE SPOKESPERSON.
“The public should, therefore, not be alarmed by the increased presence of police and military personnel on routine patrol. They are there to protect residents, shoppers and businesses,” Enanga said.
Adding: We know the vast majority of people living in the country are law-abiding citizens who do not deserve to have their lives disrupted by the actions of a few notorious criminal elements,”

“We urge all motorists to follow the instructions of police officers to stop or pull over and to avoid traffic violations like, making an illegal U-turn, failure to use your turn signals, failure to yield, disobeying a traffic signal, driving the wrong way, forcefully driving through a checkpoint,” Enanga said, encouraging Ugandans to abide by the new changes.
