Sad comrade has died without seeing justice & good governance he struggled for all his life – Bobi Wine mourns Toolit
Toolit, who passed away Monday afternoon at St. Mary's Lacor Hospital in Gulu last year, carried NUP's flag in the recent by-election in Omoro Constituency.
The leader of the National Unity Platform, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu commonly known as Bobi Wine, has described the death of Toolit Simon Akecha as ‘untimely’ and ‘terrible news’ that has caused great sorrow.
Toolit, who passed away Monday afternoon at St. Mary’s Lacor Hospital in Gulu last year, carried NUP’s flag in the recent by-election in Omoro Constituency.
Bobi Wine revealed that Toolit has also been the Acting Head of Policy and Research. “It is very unfortunate that he has passed without seeing the justice and good governance which he so much struggled for, all his life,” Bobi Wine whined.
In the by-election in Omoro Constituency, Toolit and NUP were aspiring to replace the former Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah who had barely a year into the new term in office.
Oulanyah’s son, Andrew Oulanyah Ojok, standing on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket, won the highly contested by-election to replace his father.
