Ssegirinya commitment to the struggle for freedom still stands firm – Bobi Wine

This was the first public appearance of a visibly ill Ssegirinya since his bail release recently. The youthful MP spotted a cannula in his right arm.

The leader of National Unity Platform (NUP), Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine yesterday hosted Muhammad Ssegirinya, the MP for Kawempe North.

Ssegirinya, recently released from prison on the allegations of participating in the murder of civilians in Greater Maska, met Bobi Wine at his home in Magere, Wakiso district.

This was the first public appearance of a visibly ill Ssegirinya since his bail release recently. The youthful MP spotted a cannula in his right arm.

His co-accused, Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West) remains bedridden and continues to stay out of public appearances but Bobi Wine said he has had a telephone conversation with him and that he was steadily recovering.

“They assured me that their commitment to our struggle for freedom and democracy still stands firm. They will soon address the nation and respond to the questions many people have been asking,”

For now, I will wish them a full physical and psychological healing,” Bobi Wine said of the conversations he has had with NUP MPs who have spent over 16 months in prison without proper trial in court.
