Students from EACOP project affected households get training
Over 180 students fromEACOP project affected households are to benefit from the short-term vocational training program at St. Simon Vocational Institute in Hoima City.
Over 180 students from East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project-affected households are to benefit from the short-term vocational training program by EACOP Ltd at St. Simon Vocational Institute in Hoima City.
Students to benefit from this program are from Hoima, Kikuube, Kakumiro, Kyankwanzi, Mubende, Gomba, Sembabule, Lwengo, Rakai and Kyotera districts.
Speaking at the ceremony, John Bosco Habomugisha, EACOP Ltd Deputy Managing Director said equipping the youths with appropriate skills will provide them with an opportunity to increase their capacity to start their own enterprises and engage in productive activities that can enhance their household incomes.
Rev Fr Joseph Bigirwa, the Director St Simon Peter’s VTC, said the support has been relevant, especially at this time when the unemployment challenge is rising amongst the youth.
He further thanked EACOP for choosing St Simon Peter’s VTC and hence requested students to excel and set good objectives as they study.
