Tiktoker “Pressure 24-seven” detained over abusing Kabaka

Uganda Police have confirmed to be transcribing 50 vulgar videos of Anti Kabaka sentiments posted by TikToker “Pressure 24-seven” also known as Ibrahim Musana.

The arrest of the 27-year-old Musana followed videos where he filmed himself and posted them on TikTok, abusing and attacking the person of the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II and the Katikiro Charles Peter Mayega.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, February 19, 2024, SCP Fred Enanga the police spokesperson said the Directorate of Crime Intelligence picked Musana; a resident of Kauga in Mukono after video clips of him abusing the Kabaka, Buganda Kingdom and Katikkiro Mayiga went viral.

“He was picked following a series of hate crimes, defamation of the Kabaka and Katikkiro and a lot of offensive communication through various digital communication channels,” Enanga said.

According to Enanga, following his arrest by Crime Intelligence, Musana was handed over to the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) where detectives are now processing him on various charges of misuse of social media, hate speech, offensive communication and incitement to violence.

“We are aware a large section of people in Buganda is annoyed with these speeches which are embarrassing and disrespectful. As a country, we have very strict laws against incitement to violence, hate speech and any kind of offensive communication which we can’t allow to continue since it can cause devastating effects to communities,” Enanga said.

He noted that police will continue arresting perpetuators of hateful ideology, not only against the Kabaka or Buganda but against all Ugandans and visitors to the county.
