Tororo in shock as woman murdered, baby kidnapped by suspects posing as NGO workers

The town of Tororo is grappling with shock and grief following the brutal murder of 28-year-old Awori Immaculate, whose body was discovered at Panorama Cottages Guest House in Tororo Municipality.

Police investigations reveal that Awori and her one-month-old daughter, Andera Jane, were lured from their home in Paya by two women, Nanozi Eseza (alias Nalunga Pretty) and Awori Beatrice. The suspects, posing as workers of an NGO supporting mothers and babies, booked a room for the victims under false pretenses.

Their true intentions, however, were horrifying. They killed Awori Immaculate and abducted her baby. The crime came to light when a lodge attendant discovered the body and notified authorities.

Police swiftly acted, apprehending both suspects and rescuing baby Andera Jane unharmed. The suspects are now in custody, facing charges for their heinous actions.

The Tororo District Police Commander condemned the crime and assured residents of justice. “This is a tragic and despicable act. We are committed to ensuring the suspects face the full force of the law,” he stated.

Authorities are urging the public to assist in the investigation by providing any additional information related to the incident.
