Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited announces power shutdown in several Kampala areas

According to a notice issued by UEDCL, the outage will run from 7:00am to 6:00pm to allow the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) to carry out maintenance works.

The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) has announced a planned power shutdown affecting several areas in Kampala on Friday, July 24, 2026.

 

According to a notice issued by UEDCL, the outage will run from 7:00am to 6:00pm to allow the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) to carry out maintenance works.

Areas expected to be affected include Kawempe, Makerere, Kikoni, Wandegeya, Nakulabye, Kasubi, Kalerwe, Bwaise, Kyebando, Kanyanya, Kawanda, Maganjo, Kazo, Lugoba, Nabweru, Mpererwe, among others.

UEDCL advised customers in the affected areas to plan accordingly during the scheduled maintenance period.

The company also urged customers whose power supply is not restored after the scheduled time to contact its toll-free lines for assistance.
