Uganda Will Work With You, Museveni Reassures Ruto In Congratulatory Message

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced Ruto winner beating Odinga and two others. The Odinga camp protested the results citing mismanagement of vote tallying.

President Yoweri Museveni has congratulated his friend and President Elect of Kenya William Samoei Ruto and reassured him of Uganda’s commitment to continue partnering with Kenya.

On behalf of all Ugandans, I congratulate Your Excellency William Samoei Ruto upon your election as the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya, the Uganda leader started off in his congratulatory message to the incoming President of Kenya.

“Further to my telephone call last night upon your victory, I wish to reassure you of Uganda’s commitment to continue partnering with Kenya in advancing regional and continental agenda through the East African Community, African Union and other multilateral platforms.

“Our bilateral cooperation will score tremendous achievements and I look forward to working more closely with you. God bless Kenya. God bless East Africa.

Ruto shrugged off competition from veteran politician Raila Odinga in a highly contested presidential race to become the 5th president of Kenya, replacing Uhuru Kenyatta who has served two terms.

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced Ruto winner beating Odinga and two others. The Odinga camp protested the results citing mismanagement of vote tallying.

Their complaints carried more weight after four of the seven commissioners of IEBC said the cant own the results because of irregularities that happened during the later stage of the tallying process.
