Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme regional coordinators to boost support for women and youth enterprises
The training, being held at Allison Hotel, aims to strengthen participants’ capacity to serve as local champions and technical resource persons in delivering Business Development Services (BDS) to women- and youth-led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has commenced a Training of Trainers (ToT) for Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP) Regional Coordinators and selected Focal Persons in Jinja City.
The training, being held at Allison Hotel, aims to strengthen participants’ capacity to serve as local champions and technical resource persons in delivering Business Development Services (BDS) to women- and youth-led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The initiative is being implemented under the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (WEEG-UWEP) in partnership with GIZ’s Employment Promotion for Women for the Green Transformation in Africa (WE4D).
Facilitated by GOPA Worldwide, the training is equipping participants with practical knowledge, facilitation skills, coaching approaches, and standardized training materials to enable them provide quality business advisory support to UWEP beneficiaries.
The organisers say the programme will help ensure that women and youth entrepreneurs continue receiving professional guidance and business development support beyond the project period, contributing to enterprise growth, job creation, and economic empowerment.
