Uganda’s Cheptegei Retains World Men’s 10,000m Title

  Cheptegei, also the world record holder, held off all challengers on the final lap to clock a winning time of 27 minutes 27.43 seconds.

Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei successfully defended his men’s 10,000 meters title at the World Athletics Championships here on Sunday.

Kenya’s Stanley Waithaka Mburu took silver in 27:27.90, and Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda claimed bronze in 27:27.97.
