UNOC signs strategic collaboration agreement with Baker Hughes Uganda

The new SCA formalizes and expands the partnership, reinforcing UNOC’s statutory mandate to develop in-depth technical capabilities to support Uganda’s growing energy sector.

The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) has formalized its partnership with Baker Hughes EHO FZE Uganda Branch through the signing of a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA), aimed at strengthening UNOC’s technical expertise in the energy sector.

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation across several key areas, including operatorship advisory, upstream resource assessment for the Kasuruban Block, capacity building, and the establishment of a UNOC Centre of Excellence. It also encompasses collaboration on geothermal energy and broader energy transition initiatives.

This development builds on a previous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNOC and Baker Hughes, which outlined plans to work together on these strategic priorities. The new SCA formalizes and expands the partnership, reinforcing UNOC’s statutory mandate to develop in-depth technical capabilities to support Uganda’s growing energy sector.
