Victoria University Kampala, SEAMK sign cooperation agreement to boost academic exchange

The agreement was reached during a visit by a Victoria University delegation led by the institution’s leadership to SEAMK in Seinäjoki, Finland.

Victoria University Kampala (VU) has entered into a new cooperation arrangement with Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SEAMK) in Finland aimed at strengthening academic collaboration, research, and innovation between the two institutions.

The agreement was reached during a visit by a Victoria University delegation led by the institution’s leadership to SEAMK in Seinäjoki, Finland.

The delegation expressed appreciation to SEAMK President and CEO Dr. Jaakko Hallila and his team for their hospitality and support during the engagement.

SEAMK is recognised for its focus on applying higher education, research, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The Finnish institution has also received strong rankings in graduate feedback surveys, performing highly in areas including learning environments, thesis support, and entrepreneurship readiness.

The partnership will focus on several areas of mutual interest, including student and staff exchanges, joint research initiatives, knowledge sharing, and broader academic engagement.

Victoria University said the cooperation will create opportunities for students and staff to interact with international peers, gain exposure to different academic environments, and participate in research and innovation projects.

The university leadership said the partnership marks an important step towards expanding global opportunities for the Victoria University community while strengthening links between Ugandan and Finnish higher education institutions.

The two universities expressed optimism that collaboration will lead to more academic exchanges and long-term partnerships in education and research.
