Vipers SC: New Signing Lawal Expected To Replace Departing Manzoki
Lawal arrives when there is continued speculation that the club’s talisman César Lobi Manzoki is moving to Tanzania to play for Tanzania Premier League champions Young Africans SC.
Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have signed Nigerian striker Abubakar Lawal on a two-year employment contract, that will keep him at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende up to at least 2024.
The 26-year-old spent the 2021/22 campaign at Rwanda’s giants AS Kigali, a side he featured for two years in total. The forward scored eight goals and assisted ten times in all competitions last season for Kigali, helping them win the Kigali Peace Cup in his last match in June.
“I’m here to give my best. I know the club hasn’t been in the CAF Champions’ League group stages. So, am here to help and fight to make that dream come true, Inshallah,” the player is quoted by the club’s website.
Lawal arrives when there is continued speculation that the club’s talisman César Lobi Manzoki is moving to Tanzania to play for Tanzania Premier League champions Young Africans SC.
It is therefore understand when football pundits suggest that the Nigerian will fill the boots of the César Lobi Manzoki who plays for the Central Africa Republic national team.
