We have killed ‘a lot of terrorists’ – Museveni takes pride in killing Ugandans fighting his regime
The Uganda Airforce attacked and destroyed a big ADF camp and forced the rebels to run and hide deep into DRC - beyond the limit of exploitation.
President Yoweri Museveni crowned himself the title Ssabalwanyi loosely translated as one who loves and has succeeded at fighting wars – a warrior – to remind his enemies that he is fearless and a triumphant fighter.
And true to his military background, Museveni loves fighting and usually extends a military approach to solving even civil issues like deploying the army to promote agricultural programs in the country or organizing a beauty pageant like Miss Uganda.
The President also loves celebrating his military conquests.
The latest of those military conquests came on Friday 4th November 2022 when the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) under Operation Shujaa annihilated the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels.
The Uganda Airforce attacked and destroyed a big ADF camp and forced the rebels to run and hide deep into DRC – beyond the limit of exploitation (the area the DRC government allowed UPDF to operate in as they pursued ADF rebels).
The President, in a statement announcing and informing the world about this victory, said it is important for the Africans and East Africans to know the capacity Africa possesses that can help it to solve these chronic security problems.
And with these bombardments, the President said, the ADF rebels are in ‘desperation’ and had fled beyond the limit of exploitation.
“Within the area that we have been allowed to operate, we have destroyed all the camps the reconnaissance has identified, killed a lot of terrorists, captured others and emancipated the much-terrorized wanainchi of the area,”
“The ignorant terrorists do not know that within just minutes-not hours-we can reach with deadly fire, many areas, far beyond the line of the limit of exploitation. Hence, on Friday, they got their deserved reward,” the President boasted.
“Wherever they go, we shall reach them as long as the Congo Government allows us to operate with them. Congratulations to the UPDF and congratulations to the Government of DRC and the Army of Congo,” the President concluded.
