Standard Chartered Bank Uganda has launched its latest customer-centric campaign, “Jaguza ne Standard Chartered,” aimed at rewarding clients for their saving, transacting, and deposit habits with the bank. The campaign, running from July 1st to September 30th, 2025, offers enticing prizes, including shopping vouchers, home appliances, and the coveted grand prize: a fully paid trip for two to Dubai for five lucky winners.
Clients are automatically entered into monthly draws for depositing and maintaining a minimum of UGX 1 million in their Standard Chartered Bank accounts. These monthly draws feature a diverse range of prizes, including smart TVs, refrigerators, cookers, microwaves, washing machines, and shopping vouchers, offering something for everyone.
The campaign also recognizes and rewards clients who actively use their Standard Chartered debit cards. For every 10 card payments made each month at Point-of-Sale terminals or through e-commerce transactions, clients are eligible to win monthly shopping vouchers.
The ultimate reward awaits those who deposit and maintain UGX 100 million during the campaign period. These clients will be entered into the grand prize draw, with five lucky winners receiving an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the vibrant city of Dubai.
Speaking at the launch event, held at the bank’s head office on Speke Road, Standard Chartered CEO Sanjay Rughani reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to the Ugandan market.
“As Standard Chartered, we continue to invest in innovation, customer experience, and economic transformation. Despite our recent announcement to exit our Wealth and Retail Business (WRB), I want to assure our clients, partners, regulators, and the general public that we remain firmly committed to this market,” he stated.
“Uganda is, and will remain, a strategic priority for Standard Chartered, and we will continue to operate in this market as a corporate and investment bank while ensuring that our retail clients’ interests are well taken care of in the short and long term. We remain here for good as our brand promise attests.”
Paul Sefa Badu, Head of Wealth and Retail Banking, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the campaign’s focus on client appreciation. “We are excited to offer this deposit campaign to clients across our business, personal, and affluent banking segments.
This campaign has been carefully designed to celebrate our clients by rewarding them for saving, transacting, and for their trust in us,” he said. “Saving requires planning and unlocks financial security as it enables someone to look forward to the future without worrying about sudden expenses and to attain their desired financial goals.”
Lydia Nakamya, the General Manager, Affluent Banking and Wealth Management, emphasized the bank’s commitment to providing superior service and investment in digital infrastructure.
“We continue to invest in digital infrastructure, innovation, and client-centric solutions to improve the banking experience and better serve our clients. One of our strategic priorities is to grow the affluent, and for us to do that, we need to grow with our clients’ wealth and give them the opportunity to expand their wealth,” she explained. “We believe that with the right focus, extraordinary agility, the right synergies, and curated solutions, we are the best bank to protect our clients’ portfolios and grow their wealth.”
The “Jaguza ne Standard Chartered” campaign is open to clients with current and savings accounts in both local and foreign currencies, as well as term deposit accounts. This inclusivity ensures that a wide range of customers can participate and benefit from the rewards offered.
Standard Chartered Bank Uganda continues to solidify its position as a leading digital bank in the country, dedicated to delivering exceptional value and service to its clients. The “Jaguza ne Standard Chartered” campaign is a testament to this commitment, encouraging saving habits and rewarding client loyalty.
